Towsley Clinical Simulation Center
The Clinical Simulation Center at Towsley consists of 6,000 square feet with five large rooms including: iSim for self-serve independent simulation available 24/7, a Bench-top Lab, four-bay Human Patient Simulation Lab, hi-fidelity Manikins, Task Training Lab and a Debriefing/Conference Room. These flexible spaces are equipped for audio/visual recording, presentation and debriefing.
The Mock OR space is designed for team training that can be customized to simulate a variety of medical intervention scenarios. Simulation technicians staff the control room, which overlooks the OR, to record the proceedings while also manipulating the “patient’s” reactions and simulating medical events as the scenario plays out.
The Towsley iSim location houses a variety of task/skills trainers and assessment simulators available to learners, staff and faculty all day, every day. Activities include: retinal exam, adult and pediatric heart and lung exam, Pediatric Auscultation Trainer (PAT), lumbar puncture, pediatric airway management, pediatric central line placement, ultrasound simulation (SonoSim), and laparoscopic box trainers.
