Urology Residency

The University of Michigan Urology Residency Program aims to train the best in urology, those who want to shape the field through leadership, discovery, and innovation.

Our goals are:

  • To train clinicians who are prepared to care for any urologic diagnosis, to perform any urologic procedure, and to push the limits of clinical practice through innovation in technology, quality improvement, patient safety, and health policy.
  • To foster intellectual curiosity and develop skills in research methodology for the purpose of achieving scientific breakthroughs and extending therapies to urologic patients on a broader scale.
  • To teach future educators who will pioneer new methods of surgical training with the goal of better preparing the next generation of urologists for practice.
  • To create a diverse urologic workforce that better represents the communities we serve and to reduce healthcare disparities through principles of inclusion, equity, and justice.
